my new haircut.

A cookie to anyone who gets the title reference.

Anyway. It’s finally time to get my hair cut done. Yes, it’s a somewhat teenage hair story. Yes, that’s another reference that can also qualify for a cookie.

I’ve had these magic highlights in my hair since graduation. I know, it’s shameful that a beauty junkie has had the same dye job for roughly seven months (and it’s even more shameful that my previous dye job involved a box of feria and a paintbrush). The magic highlights started have been through various phases and it’s only necessary to chronicle their greatness via photo.

Exhibit A: The birth of the magic. The color started off as a dark red, definitely nothing you could have found in nature…but those bright violet eyes scream ‘as natural as Heidi Montag.’ So.

Exhibit B: The fade. Since red never keeps the magic wore off and my hair became auburn in a Lily Aldrin esque kind of way. I liked it, minus the fact that when the sun caught my hair in a certain light I looked like I was on fire.

Actually that was kind of bad-ass.

Exhibit C: The final days of glory. My hair’s at this strange golden brown/somewhat elmo color now…but in the sun it sometimes looks blonde.

And I sometimes want to shoot myself.

Since I’m heading back east for the winter I’ve decided it’s necessary to dye my hair dark. Insanely dark. Hopefully I end up looking something like this:

I’ve wanted to get back in touch with my emo kid ways anyway. Those clothes were so cute.
